I got this phone because it is one of the very FEW that you can get where you don't have to have a data plan. I catch it randomly calling people all the time. The chat feature on the text messages never goes to the right person and conversation. Half the time when I reply to a text message, it will go to a different person. The camera is worthless also.
Pros: Battery Life
Cons: Software Bugs, camera
No, I do not recommend this product.

Myself and another family member both got this phone. Both of them turn off on their own all the time (after the 15 day replacement period). The chat display was poorly designed and often times doesn't display the text messages in chat view.

I bought this phone from my local US Cellular store no more than 16 days ago and the phone is already dead in the water and unusable. It has not been dropped or damaged in any way. It worked fine then one afternoon I went to use it and it was stuck in some sort of boot up screen with a white background and the US Cellular logo in the middle. Cant turn it off/on, it wont charge, attempted to restore from LG website and the phone would not even allow connection for restore. Its basically toast after only 16 days. I will not have another of this type and do not recommend other to buy it either.
Pros: Speaker, Good For Texting, Menus, Battery Life, Camera/Video Quality
Cons: Operating System, Software Bugs, Freezes
No, I do not recommend this product.

I waited for this phone to come out I have always had LG phones and I usually love them but, this thing has been a pain in the butt since I got it. If I touch my cheek or my ear to the touch screen it hangs up the phone. I have a daughter who is ill and I am consulting with Drs. on a fairly regular basis and it hangs up. I talk to anyone it hangs up. Over and over and over again!! Hate it!!!

Don't get this one. Opt for something else. I have had problems since the beginning. This phone has frozen on me, but at times takes on a life of it's own. I leave the room, and come back a half hour later, and easy edge is pulled up (which I don't use...and they were supposed to disable for me). The touch screen is super-touchy sometimes, and at other times won't work.
Cons: Operating System, Full Navigation, Freezes
No, I do not recommend this product.

Like the keyboard and the fact of no data plan required. Touch screen is very tempermental. I live by the calender on my phone and it is very tetious to enter data. To make phone calls or text, need to go through several screens before getting to the one you want. Deciding if I will go back to my old phone or proceed to a Smart phone but I am not staying with the Freedom.

I got this phone because I don't want a data plan and like the keyboard slide away. Unfortunately it dials when locked, I cannot tell you how many people it has called all by itself- so many that I have replace the first 5 A letter contacts wit A, AA, AAA, AAAA, and AAAAA, all with no real numbers so I random dial a no one. The key color is terrible during the day- I cannot see the blue against the grey in any kind of daylight, so have to find shade whenever I text outside.
Pros: Good For Texting, Battery Life
Cons: random dialing, cannot see the blue keys in daylight
No, I do not recommend this product.

It will say unable to send a text so I have to cut off the phone and then back on to get it to send text. My son texted me one whole day and I didnt get a one. He finally called me and I cut the phone off and when it came back on all the text came to my phone. When on the internet the screen scrolls by itself and you cant stop it enough to read anything. The keypad numbers are to small to see or push. Dont waste your money on this one. video quality is poor
Cons: Software Bugs, Small Keys
No, I do not recommend this product.

You cannot hang this phone up and just throw it in your purse or pocket. You have to press the button on top to blacken the screen. I hang up and throw it in my purse and I call random contacts everyday. The contacts icon is on the lower right side so it's so easy to bring up contacts accidentally, then pocket dialing begins. Absolutely hate how when i check my voicemails, I have to be so careful. If you put your chin against phone it falls right on 7. I delete my voicemails on accident all the time.
Pros: you can text while talking on the phone.
Cons: Operating System, to easy to pocket dial, chin hits buttons and you hang up on people
No, I do not recommend this product.

This is my first and last touchscreen phone. My fingers are not tiny and I was hitting every button but the one I wanted. Also, it was a pain to unlock the phone every five seconds and the buttons on the keypad were very hard to see. I turned in that phone 2 days after getting it and got the basic Pantech Verse which I am loving so far!

I came to this phone by chance since I decided to down-grade from an android phone. It is fairly easy to start using with a pretty good battery. Not much too it, good keyboard for texting, but the keys have a blue backlight which makes it hard to see in daylight. You can't change the lock screen but that does not really matter to me much. Can't zoom in while taking a picture but can when taking a video. Froze on me twice and restarted because of that but since then no problem. This is an OK product if you just want a simple texting phone.

Cons: Operating System, Freezes

This phone replaced my Motorola Quantico. Basically I wanted a more user friendly phone for texting, but I don't have a data plan so options are limited. So far I am very pleased with this phone. It's very well thought out in functionality and changes screens very fast. My only complaint so far is that the letters on the slide out buttons are kind of hard to see. Otherwise, I think it's the best phone in the lineup for my kind of usage. I'd buy it again.

I do not have any interest in having internet on a phone. I use a 7 inch Galaxy Tab 2 for that. That being said, this is one of the few phones left for texting and talking, that doesn't require a data plan. Tried several smart phones that had poor battery life and seemed to need resetting way too often or just stopped working entirely.
This phone has not had any glitches. I live in an area where reception has been an issue with several other phones but not with this one. Being able to respond quickly by text with the T9 input on the touch screen is nice. I use the slider for longer texts and the button layout is easier to use than my last phone. The slide out can be a little hard to see in daylight at certain angles. Much easier to see in low light.
The drawing panel is a neat way to send custom messages. Call quality is really good. Clarity and volume is very acceptable.
This was the best choice for me because of my needs. It takes a little while to get used to coming from a non-slider. I'm the type of person that sits down with a new phone and tries every setting and every feature without using instructions. Lots of useful features here. If you take the time to get familiar with it, you should be happy. Camera isn't spectacular. No zoom for pictures but it's ok. Sorry, no web surfing for me so I can't comment on that.
Pros: Speaker, Good For Texting, Menus, Battery Life, Tools, Ease of Use
Cons: keyboard clarity, scrolling on touch screen
Yes, I recommend this product.

The old flip phone simply had to be replaced and quite honestly I hadn't seen anything worth replacing it with until the LG Freedom came available. This little phone works great for all my needs and more. No data plan for me, thank you! I also don't want to feel pushed into having a data plan by lack of phone choices. The LG Freedom is a great phone with great sound and many options for user convenience without the obligation of a data plan. One thing I found interesting is that it will read a text message back to you but you can't record a text message to send. This doesn't matter to me but might to someone else. The phone will record as a media message and then it can be sent. The only real con for me is that the alarm volume is not adjustable like my old LG phone. In any case, I am very content with this phone choice and am going to purchase one for my daughter, too.
Pros: Durable, Good For Texting, Menus, Ease of Use, Camera/Video Quality
Cons: Battery Life, alarm volume does not adjust.
Yes, I recommend this product.
